Thursday Live on Cal Ave. is a free outdoor concert series presented by the Palo Alto Recreation Foundation in partnership with the City of Palo Alto. The series takes place on California Avenue and features local musical talent, themed experiences, and community activities. Each Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the car-free street transforms into a gathering space with live music, interactive activities, free giveaways, games, and themed programming for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to dine, shop, and explore Cal Ave. before and after each event.
The 2026 series schedule includes: May 28 (Car show, presented by Terún Pizzeria), June 25 (Taste of Cal Ave featuring world music), July 30 (Wine Walk, presented by John Wade King), Aug. 27 (Wellness and End of Summer), Sept. 24 (Jazz and Harvest Fest), and a special Saturday event Oct. 31 (Halloween and Oktoberfest, starting tentatively at 10 a.m.).
