A benefit ride event titled “Ride for the Chief” will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, to support Assistant Fire Chief Kenny Gindle in his battle with cancer. Kenny Gindle has served the community as a firefighter since age 19 and currently serves as Assistant Fire Chief. The ride will start at 11:00 AM from Wetumpka Sports Complex and end at the Autaugaville Volunteer Fire Department. Registration begins at 10:00 AM, with a $25 charge per vehicle. The event will include food, music, and a silent auction following the ride. Proceeds will assist Kenny Gindle and his family with medical expenses.
