Mounts Customs hosts its second annual Hennesee Fest car show and open house Sept. 12 at 191 Walker Lane in Hazel Green. The event is open to all types of cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and planes, with Volkswagens judged separately. Gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the show running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
VW awards include first, second and third place, best in show, longest driven, oldest VW, shop choice, best bus, best off-road and best specialty VW. All vehicles receive awards. A 50/50 raffle, swap meet, shop tours, prizes, giveaways, vendors, food, music, kids activities and games are planned.
A Friday night cruise to a local historical site runs from 4 to 8 p.m. Primitive camping is available on site. Cars may be left in a secure gated location with overnight security from Friday through Sunday. Solo change clubs are welcome, and spectators should RSVP. Motels are nearby.
