Friends of Olivia hosts its Horsepower for Hope car show and community festival Saturday, Oct. 10, at 241 Old Marion Junction Road in Selma. Registration opens at 8 a.m., with the festival opening at 10 a.m. and public viewing beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Vehicle entry requires a $25 donation benefiting Friends of Olivia and Potters Station Volunteer Fire Department. All registered participants receive an event dash plaque. Awards include Best in Show, People’s Choice, Best Custom, Best Paint, Best Interior, Best Classic, Best Modern, Best Muscle Car, Best Truck, Best Jeep, Best Engine, Largest Car Club, Longest Distance Traveled and Friends of Olivia Choice.
People’s Choice voting closes at 1 p.m., with judging complete by 1:30 p.m. The awards ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. The festival features a kids corner with games, inflatables and petting zoo, vendors, shopping, BBQ cook-off and silent auction. A DJ performs throughout the day.
