Annual Trunk or Treat Fall Festival

Chatham County Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources presents the Annual Trunk or Treat Fall Festival at Southwest District Park in Bear Creek, North Carolina, on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The outdoor community celebration runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, featuring seasonal autumn games, family activities, and an afternoon trunk or treat.

From 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, festival activities include pumpkin carving and painting, Halloween-themed games and crafts, a photo booth, craft stations, a bounce house, and a hay hunt, alongside a costume contest. Starting at 4:00 PM, decorated vehicle trunks open to distribute candy to trick-or-treaters.

Admission and trunk participation are free, and parking is free on site. Area organizations, businesses, and community members wishing to host a decorated vehicle trunk and pass out candy can coordinate with coordinator Mallory Peterson. Leashed pets are welcome on park grounds.
