Dragon Rally® LIX (59)

Smoky Mountain Drives hosts the 59th installment of its Dragon Rally® driving events on Saturday, November 7. The drive is the ninth and final Dragon Rally® of 2026. The series runs monthly drives from March through November.

Participants spend a full day on a guided tour of driving roads in the Smoky Mountains, including the legendary Tail of the Dragon. Routes change every month and range from 220 to 290 miles. Every event includes at least one run over the Tail of the Dragon, along with roads such as the Cherohala Skyway, Foothills Parkway, Blue Ridge Parkway, Moonshiner 28, Hellbender and Devil’s Triangle.

The rally welcomes sports cars, exotic cars and luxury cars, with vehicles ranging from Mustangs to McLarens. Drivers come from as many as 10 different states per event. Photographers drive along with the group, and the schedule includes a photoshoot. The drive concludes with a catered BBQ dinner at the 129 Hub.

Registration is $129 per car, and the event is capped at 50 cars. A passenger meal is $20 each. The event packet includes a detailed route map, and participants receive a rental FRS radio for communicating with the group. Killboy Photos provides unlimited access to photos taken of the cars on the Tail of the Dragon.

The event runs rain or shine. Participants must be 18 or older and provide a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. The rally starts at 4371 Calderwood Highway in Maryville, Tennessee.
