It seems every year the weather forecast for Bonnell’s show is thunderstorms and it somehow never hits. I hit a pretty good thunderstorm between Northeast and Harborcreek and thought this was the year it was going to get rained out. But once again the car show gods made sure that aside from some very dark clouds, the Bonnell’s Rod Shop Car show would once again have good weather.
This is one of my favorite shows. Some shows it seems people are out more to socialize, but at this car show people are there to look at cars. Kind of a car persons car show. And this year didn’t disappoint. In my extremely unskilled estimating I would say 600+ cars. The setting is great, food is great, atmosphere is great and just an awesome collection of cars at the show. Only bummer was the no burnout signs. I get it, its kind of tight with cars parked on the road, but it is kind of a favorite thing to watch some smokey burnouts as cars leave. Maybe Bonnell’s can fill in that pond and put in a burnout strip?? But even without the burnouts this is a great show. As I tell people, if you are going to go to one show in the Erie area, this is the one to attend. Can’t wait till next years show!
