The 14th Annual Lake Opeka Fall Festival Car Show takes place at Lake Park in Des Plaines, Illinois, on Sept. 20. The show is open to all cars, trucks, muscle cars, rods, customs and motorcycles, with a $20 entry fee. Spectators are admitted free.
Trophies and awards are presented following the show, and auto trivia prizes are awarded every 30 minutes throughout the event. A 50/50 raffle is also held. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Historical Society.
The car show is part of the larger Fall Fest, a three-day community festival produced by the Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce, the Des Plaines History Center and the Des Plaines Park District, featuring carnival rides, live bands, food, a KidZone and other family activities. Admission and parking for the festival are free.
