The 608 Piston Pounders Car Club hosts its 8th annual car show and swap meet Saturday, Sept. 5, at the La Crosse Interstate Fairgrounds in West Salem. Gates open at 8 a.m., with registration from 9 a.m. to noon. Judging begins at 12:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation at 2 p.m.
The event features 16 categories and 79 trophies, including classes for old rods and cruisers up to 1957, street machines from 1958 to 1965, rat rods, GM, Ford, Chrysler and other makes from 1966 to 1974, modern vehicles through 2026, trucks, motorcycles, special interest, survivors and foreign cars. Special awards include Recipient’s Choice, O’Reilly Auto Parts Choice, Piston Pounders Ladies Pick and Piston Pounders Pick.
Entry fee is $10 per vehicle, judged or not. Swap meet vendor spaces measure 15 by 40 feet and cost $10. Admission is free to the public. Food vendors will be on site, and Jerry Thrune provides music. All proceeds benefit local charities and needy causes. O’Reilly Auto Parts sponsors the event.
