America 250 Lowden hosts a car show featuring cars, trucks, motorcycles, and tractors on Saturday, June 27 at Lowden Memorial Park. The event begins with a parade at 11 a.m., with lineup at 3:30 Club starting at 10 a.m. The parade route runs west on Main Street, north on McKinley Avenue, and west on 8th Street.
The car show runs from noon to 6 p.m. Registration costs $20 day of show or $10 in advance. Check-in and lineup takes place north of the school, with overflow parking east of the school and on McKinley Avenue. Arrival and registration runs from noon to 4 p.m., with judging from 4 to 5 p.m. and awards presentation at 5:30 p.m.
Activities include a bounce house, kids’ carnival games, face painting, dunk tank, and teen/adult games including shoe kick, sack races, and egg toss. A splash pad and playground are available all day. Food vendors include Wildwood BBQ & Saloon, Lowden Lions Club, Two Scoops Ice Cream, and North Cedar Athletic Boosters. Trinity Lutheran Church serves pie from noon to 3 p.m.
A beer tent operates from noon to 11 p.m. A new playground dedication takes place at 12:30 p.m., followed by a bean bag tournament at 1 p.m. with $20 per team entry and prize money. Bingo runs from 1 to 4 p.m. in the open shelter. The America 250 ceremony takes place at 3:45 p.m. at the baseball diamond, followed by a community all-stars baseball game at 4 p.m.
A calf drop offers a chance to win 50% of proceeds up to $500, with $10 tickets available at City Hall and Olsen’s Appliance. A grilling competition features crowd favorite judging and awards, with samples available starting at 4 p.m. Registration closes June 22 by calling (563) 941-5800. Live music with Cassie and Randy runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
