A back-to-school car show and vendor market takes place Saturday at Morgan Plaza in Covington to support Flint Hill Elementary and Indian Creek Middle School. The vendor market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. An awards ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
The event features special guests the General Lee from “The Dukes of Hazzard” and actor James Best as Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. Admission is free. Organizers are collecting new school supplies including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, disinfecting wipes, tissues and hand sanitizer to fill a trailer for local schools.
Activities include kids crafts, local vendors and food from Blockers serving hot dogs and chips. Awards include Best in Show, Participant’s Choice, People’s Choice and Kid’s Choice.
