The August Second Friday event takes place in Historic Downtown Perry on the second Friday August 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. This month’s Back to School theme celebrates the start of the school year with a car cruise-in beginning at 5:30 p.m., food trucks, vendors, and late night shopping. Local shops and boutiques extend their hours for the evening. Participating restaurants and coffee shops include 105 Cafe’ & Coffee, After Hours Cofe’, Back Door Bistro, and Coastal Junkie Nutrition. Businesses staying open late include Debbie’s Jewels, Rhinestones & Rust, Spunky Sparrow, Willoughby’s Home & Interiors, The Gather, Farewell Finch, The Fair Store, The Creative Greenhouse, Mane Salon, and Martin + Alyse Candle Co. The event features music throughout downtown and specials with select merchants.
