A benefit car show will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, at 14935 US-231 in Hazel Green, Ala., to raise funds for funeral expenses and to help keep a 1971 Dodge Demon in the family following the unexpected death of Michael Brown. All proceeds will go to his daughter, Tabitha, to cover funeral costs and a loan taken out on the vehicle before his passing.
The event will feature 49 awards across categories including Motorcycles, Jeep, Ford, Mopar, Chevy, Imports, Trucks, Rat Rods, Oldest, Newest, Female Driven, Best Custom Built, Junior Class, Odd Ball, Highest and Lowest Mileage, Family Choice, Wild Cards, and Best of Show. Only one award will be given per vehicle. Registration is available at the show only – no pre-registration – with a $20 entry fee.
An auction will include Alabama football memorabilia, Playboy magazines, collectible coins, and NASCAR items. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. The Cookhouse Mobile Food Truck and Cream & Sugar ice cream truck will be on site. Product vendors include Bath & Body Works products, Printpour, California’s Creation, Bundy and Boo’s Bird Box Farm, Angela Clark with Amigurumi, and Southern Pour, among others. Music will be provided.
