Cruisin to Quasar

A car cruise is scheduled for Aug. 22 beginning at I29 Dragway in Pacific Junction, Iowa, and ending at Quasar Drive-In. The evening starts at the dragstrip, where attendees can view cars and watch a racing event called Cruise and Lose. Admission to the track is $15 per person.

At approximately 7 p.m., participants will depart the dragstrip for an approximately one-hour cruise to Quasar Drive-In, following a route along highways 34, 75, 80, 680, Dodge Street, Highway 36 and N. 300th Street. The drive-in will screen a 4K remastered re-release of “The Fast and the Furious” in honor of the film’s 25th anniversary, followed by “Smokey and the Bandit.” Drive-in admission is $10 per person.

All vehicle types are welcome, including muscle cars, hot rods, rat rods, lowriders, donks, ricers and daily drivers. Families and children are encouraged to attend. The organizer is not affiliated with either the dragstrip or the drive-in but has notified both venues of the cruise.
