The D.C. Booth Hot Rods for the Hatchery car show returns to the grounds of the D.C. Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery in Spearfish, South Dakota, on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Now in its eighth year, the event marks its sixth consecutive year at the hatchery location and returns to its traditional Saturday format.
The all-makes, all-models show serves as an annual fundraiser for the D.C. Booth Society, with proceeds supporting efforts to keep the historic hatchery free and open to the public. Pre-registered vehicles may park beginning at 7:40 a.m., with general registration and parking open from 8 to 10 a.m. Judging runs from 10 to 11 a.m., and awards are presented at 11:30 a.m. near the rail car.
Sponsors include White’s Canyon Ford and Lincoln, White’s Canyon Xtreme Truck Shop, Walk n Wash Spearfish, Spearfish Auto Supply NAPA, Arehart Rods and Restoration, Randy and Sons Welding, and Truck It LLC, among others. Event merchandise is available for pre-order with options for shipping or pickup at the show.
The event is drug- and alcohol-free. All vehicles must exit the hatchery grounds following the conclusion of the show. Parking in the adjacent city park campground is not permitted. Questions may be directed to [email protected].
