Downtown Chula Vista Association Día De Los Muertos Celebration

The Downtown Chula Vista Association hosts a Día de los Muertos celebration that turns the neighborhood into a cempasúchil-filled gathering honoring loved ones who have passed while celebrating life. The free community event runs from noon to 7:30 p.m. at 353 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista and includes a car show, an Ofrenda Competition, a Catrín and Catrina Ensemble contest, live music and dance performances at four locations, kids crafts, artisan vendors at Mercado by Las Jefas Market, treats, food and themed photo ops throughout the neighborhood. A Community Ofrenda is set up at Davidson, and attendees are asked to bring a copy of a photo to pin on the Community Altar there.
