The Forest Junction Civic League hosts its annual picnic and car show on Sunday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Freitag Memorial Park in Forest Junction. The park is located two blocks south of Highway 10 on Church Street.
Car show registration runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with the show from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and awards at 2:30 p.m. Entry is $10 and includes a $5 food voucher. The first 50 entrants receive a dash plaque. Award categories include 1949 and older, 1950-1959, 1960-1969, 1970-1979, 1980-1989, 1990-Present, Most Authentic, and Best of Show. Live music by Cahoots runs from 11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Kids activities are also planned. Food includes burgers, brats, hot dogs, sweet corn, baked potatoes, pie and ice cream, sundaes, floats, and refreshments.
A cash raffle offers a $1,000 first prize, with second prize at $300, third at $200, and fourth at $100. Tickets are $25 each, with only 150 available. The drawing is at 3:45 p.m. To purchase tickets, email [email protected]. Additional 50/50 raffles, bucket raffles, and mystery prize envelopes will be available.
Proceeds benefit park maintenance and improvements.
