Grim Reaper Fall Car Show

Owl’s Athletic Club hosts the Grim Reaper Fall Car Show at its picnic grove in Elgin, Illinois. Gates open at 8:30 a.m., and the show runs until 2:15 p.m. Spectators are asked for an optional donation, and show vehicles pay a $20 entry fee. The grounds hold room for more than 300 cars, with plenty of parking and an outdoor pavilion with a fireplace in case of chilly weather. Coffee and pastries are available for early arrivals, followed by fresh breakfast sandwiches, and lunch begins at 11 a.m. A free anniversary cake is served, and coolers are welcome. The Grim Reapers Band plays classic rock from the 1950s to today in the outdoor pavilion, with a live band set at noon and DJ Rudy K’s celebration and cruisin’ music video and radio show rounding out the entertainment. A 50/50 raffle runs during the show, and unique themed awards are presented at 2:15 p.m. The large grounds also suit club picnics.
