Hillbilly Havoc

Hillbilly Havoc brings drag racing to English Mountain in Newport, Tennessee, with eight race classes competing for a 100% payback to each class winner. Class entry is $100 for Nitrous, Forced Induction, Diesel, All Motor, Stick Shift and Bike, and $30 for Pit Bike / Mini Bike and SXS. Test and tune runs $25 per vehicle and is open to everyone.

Class winners earn a free entry into the King of the Mountain runoff for a 4-foot trophy. Racers who did not win their class can buy into the runoff for $100. Rules allow any tire size, slicks or radials, and external weights. Off-road vehicles must arrive extremely clean; muddy or filthy machines are turned away.

Grudge racing is encouraged, and before and after class racing runs if time allows. Organizers welcome first-time drivers, street cars, hot rods, pit vehicles and kids with Power Wheels, and help is available for anyone making a first pass down a drag strip. Gates open at 2 p.m. with a drivers meeting at 4 p.m.
