The 58th Annual Mid-Eastern Regional Fly-In & Car Show, featuring Military Appreciation Day, takes place Saturday, Sept. 12, at Grimes Municipal Airport in Urbana, Ohio. The event is free to the public and to all fly-in aircraft.
The combined aviation and automotive showcase features regional aircraft alongside classic, custom and muscle cars. Awards for both the fly-in and car show are presented at 1 p.m., with judging beginning at 9 a.m. A pancake breakfast is served in the North Grimes Hangar starting at 8 a.m., and food trucks arrive at 10 a.m. A kids’ activity area is also planned.
As part of the 58th anniversary celebration, a fuel discount of $2.00 off per gallon of Avgas is available to early-arriving pilots, courtesy of Purvis Brothers Inc., valid for the first 500 gallons sold.
The event honors veterans and active-duty service members through its Military Appreciation Day component. Sponsors include Purvis Brothers Inc., Packer & Associates, Preferred Air Parts, Huey’s Coffee, Andrew Grimm Photography, Mid America Flight Museum, Civista Bank and Champaign Aviation Museum.
