The Rats Nest Run In Budget Burnout Build Off is scheduled for August 15, 2026, in Durham, New York. Builders are invited to participate by creating unique vehicles that must be pre-1972 models. There are no restrictions on money spent or parts used, and participants have a year to complete their builds. The winner, determined by burnout style, vehicle appearance, and crowd voting, will receive $1,500. The winning vehicle will be purchased by Rats Nest Run In and auctioned for a local charity, with the winner having the option to buy the car back at auction. Straight line burnouts only are allowed. This event is separate from the Annual Burnout Contest and is focused as a budget build competition.
