Ribbons & Rivets Retro Pin Up Contest

The Ribbons & Rivets Retro Pin Up Contest takes place during the Steels & Wheels Car Show at BrewDog USA on Gender Road in Canal Winchester. The contest starts at 2 p.m., and contestants must arrive by 1:30 p.m.

Entries are limited to 15 contestants, who must be 18 or older. The entry fee is $20. Contestants register by emailing their name, pin-up name and a short bio to [email protected]; Venmo payment details follow. Registration closes October 28 or when all 15 spots fill, whichever comes first.

The look is vintage-inspired pin-up style with a Halloween twist. Vintage glamour, classic pin-up and rockabilly styling, curls, makeup and creative accessories are encouraged. The event is family-friendly, so outfits must stay classy and pin-up appropriate; nudity, lingerie, see-through outfits, pasties, exposed intimate areas, burlesque attire and overly revealing outfits are not permitted. Contestants unsure about the guidelines can ask in advance.

Judges score contestants on overall look, hair and makeup, outfit details, Halloween creativity, confidence, personality and stage presence. Titles are Miss Ribbons & Rivets, 1st Runner-Up, 2nd Runner-Up and Crowd Favorite, and all title winners receive a crown and sash. Attendees and fans choose Crowd Favorite, with voting details announced at the event.

All proceeds support Kaitlynn Mauck, a Central Ohio freshman who qualified for the USA Luge Junior Development Team and is pursuing a goal of competing in luge at the Olympic level.
