Track Night in America, presented by the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and driven by Tire Rack, is a non-competitive, low-stress and inexpensive way for car and motorsports enthusiasts to drive on a real racecourse in their own vehicle during weeknight sessions.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and have access to an approved helmet and a street car in good working condition. No previous on-track experience or SCCA membership is required. Drivers are placed in the Advanced, Intermediate, or Hawk Novice Experience group, and each participant receives three 20-minute sessions on course along with feedback from SCCA driver coaches on site.
Admission is free for spectators who wish to watch, and leisurely circuit parade laps are available for all Track Night in America guests.
The event is held at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park (TSMP), formerly Thompson International Raceway, located in Thompson, Connecticut. The facility features a 5/8-mile paved oval racetrack and a 1.7-mile road racing course. Recognized as the first asphalt-paved racing oval in the United States and once known as the “Indianapolis of the East,” TSMP now operates under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series banner and annually hosts the World Series of Auto Racing, featuring the IMSA Super Modifieds and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
