Scoop Waukegan hosts a two-day classic car event July 10-11 in downtown Waukegan. The Open Scoop cruise runs both days, with cars allowed to cruise and park from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Friday. No registration fee is required for the Open Scoop, limited to the first 1,000 classic and custom cars.
The official car show takes place Saturday, July 11, with check-in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Water and Sheridan. Judging runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with awards presented from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Categories include vehicles from the 1920s through 2000s and up, plus imports, trucks, lowriders, rat rods, modern classics and motorcycles.
Special awards include Original Scooper, Mayor’s Choice, Bridge Bum Pick, Best Lowrider and the Dick Brean Award. The event features live entertainment and food from local vendors.
