The Great Yellow Takeover! {REBOOT}

The Great Yellow Takeover returns to Stolley Park in Grand Island, Nebraska, on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, gathering yellow vehicles of all kinds – show cars, daily drivers, work trucks, motorcycles and works in progress – for a community event and group photo.

The Hastings Area Rural Volunteer Fire Department has been invited to anchor the lineup with yellow fire apparatus. Nine custom club awards will be presented, with drivers voting on categories including The Sunburst (Best of Show), The 24K Custom, The Bumblebee and the Big Lemon, designated for the top junker. Each registered driver receives one official voting ballot at check-in.

A group photo is scheduled for 2:00 PM. Local food vendors and enthusiast-led “Tech Talks” are also planned. There are no registration fees or dues required to participate.
