About This Event
Tire Rack Street Survival is a comprehensive teen driving safety school held at the Saratoga Automobile Museum in Saratoga Springs, New York. Designed for permitted and licensed teen drivers ages 15 to 21, the hands-on program goes beyond traditional driver’s education by teaching students vehicle dynamics and car control within the handling limits of their own personal vehicles.
The full-day curriculum combines classroom sessions covering driving physics, contact patches, and situational awareness with extensive in-car coaching. Students practice critical accident-avoidance maneuvers on a closed course, including wet skid pad recovery, threshold braking with ABS, emergency lane changes, and a slalom course to master weight transfer. Demonstrations may also include tractor-trailer blind spot awareness and airbag safety.
Registration is $175 per student, and vehicles must be street-legal, registered, and insured. Parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend alongside their student and participate in the classroom sessions. Complimentary lunch is provided for all students, parents, and volunteer coaches.
