Trunk or Treat Jeep Night at Shawnee’s Bates City BBQ

Shawnee’s Bates City BBQ hosts the final Jeep Night of the year as a Trunk or Treat event on Halloween. The gathering runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and welcomes everyone, whether they drive a Jeep or not. Jeeps park in the lot directly in front of the restaurant, while local businesses the restaurant works with set up in the south lot. The event raises money for Sunflower House, a local Children’s Advocacy Center, through 10% of the restaurant’s daily sales and additional donations made directly to the organization. Kiewit volunteers host Pumpkin Palooza, decorating and painting pumpkins that are sold with all proceeds going to Sunflower House. An expanded raffle and silent auction also run during the evening. Anyone who wants to hand out candy is encouraged to decorate.
