Trunk or Treat on Main Street

Frailey’s Recycling hosts Trunk or Treat on Main Street, turning downtown Chouteau, Oklahoma, into a Retro Camp for Halloween. The free community event runs 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31, 2026, along Main Street to the Word Fellowship parking lot.

The evening centers on decorated trunks handing out candy, with a vintage summer camp theme built around old-school campers, plaid blankets, lanterns, camp signs and spooky cabins. The Retro Camp theme is optional, and participants may decorate their trunks however they like.

Organizers need cars for the event. Participants decorate a trunk, bring candy and line Main Street. Contests include a pumpkin carving contest, a costume contest and a Best Decorated Trunk Contest. A free DJ provides music.

Costumes are encouraged for campers, ghosts, witches, monsters and trick-or-treaters. The event includes games and candy for families. Those who want to enter a decorated trunk or need more information can send a message through the event’s Facebook page.
