The Van Dyne Lions Club hosts its 11th annual classic car and truck show at Van Dyne Lions Park on August 16. Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon, with trophies awarded at 3 p.m. The event features 20 classes spanning vehicles from 1900 to present, including stock cars, muscle cars, street rods, modified trucks, imports, rat rods and specialty vehicles. Two trophies will be awarded in each class, plus Lions Pick and Fire Department Pick awards.
The $10 entry fee includes a raffle ticket for all-day drawings. A DJ performs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by the StarFire Band until 5 p.m. The event coincides with Small Town Days, which runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Food offerings include the famous Van Dyne chicken dinner, burgers, brats, hot dogs, homemade desserts, cheese fries, nachos and ice cream. Beer and soda will be available. A 50/50 raffle and booze basket raffle will be held. The park features a covered pavilion with seating and clean restrooms. All proceeds benefit local community projects.
