VFW Post 3034 and Elks Lodge host a two-day Fourth of July celebration in Sumter, SC, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. The car show takes place July 4 with registration from 10 a.m. to noon and trophies awarded at 2 p.m. Registration costs $10. Eight classes include Commander’s Choice, Best of Show Ford, Best of Show Dodge, Best of Show Chevy, Best of Show Mopar, Best of Show Motorcycle, Best of Show Import, and Recreational Vehicle. A live band performs July 3. Food includes grilled chicken, pulled pork, slaw, beans, and rolls for $12 presale and day of event. Free hot dogs are available. Activities include DJ music, bouncy house, dunk tank, and snow cones. Outside beer sales are permitted. Attendance is free to all. No personal fireworks or firearms allowed. Pets on leash welcome.
