The Winchester Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Independence Day celebration July 3 at Jim Barnett Park. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.
Vendors and food trucks will operate from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The outdoor pool will host a swim celebration from noon to 6:30 p.m. A family fun zone requiring wristbands will be available indoors and outdoors from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A magic show is scheduled for 5 p.m. Live music will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:20 p.m.
Parking opens at 4 p.m. on Festival Field near the Maple Drive and Oak Drive intersection. The Bodie Grim and Yost parking lots will be closed all day. War Memorial Drive closes at 1:30 p.m. South Purcell Avenue and the Maple Drive/Cork Street entrance close at 8:50 p.m.
