The Syracuse Nationals Car Show, a premier event in the Northeast, attracts car enthusiasts to the New York State Fairgrounds located at 581 State Fair Blvd Syracuse. This year introduces an additional highlight for families, as children aged 12 and under are granted free admission.
One of the new attractions at the Syracuse Nationals is the Syracuse Signature Showcase, which is housed within the Maguire Family of Dealerships Exposition Center building. It features an assortment of new muscle cars, trucks, high-end vehicles, and unique models including exotics, super cars, and invite-only high-end show vehicles. Alongside this, the Winfield Award competition will be stationed inside the Expo building, displaying top six cars chosen by Gene Winfield competing for the prestigious award and a $10,000 prize.
Visitors also have the opportunity to explore a display of antique autos in the Horticulture Building. Adding to the excitement, Nitro Row, located near the Expo Center building, showcases nostalgia drag cars that fire up their powerful nitro and methanol engines during the event, with fire-up times scheduled for Friday at 1pm and 4pm, Saturday at 11am, 1pm, and 4pm, and Sunday at 11am.
The 2023 NAPA Auto Parts Syracuse Nationals included the charity panel jam, the Brushfest, which successfully raised $72,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY. The Brushfest, happening in the Center of Progress Building, showcases talented pinstripe and airbrush artists, and features auctions to benefit Ronald McDonald House. Auction times are set for Friday at 2pm, Saturday at 10am and 2pm, and Sunday at 11am. Additionally, visitors can purchase pinstriping and lettering services for personal items on-site throughout the event.
Car lovers can also visit Sparky's Rockabilly Roundup in the Beef Barn, which is the gathering spot for Rat Rods or Old Skool cars. This portion of the event includes live music, awards, and a pin-up girl contest, with potential cash prizes. Contestants may register at the Rockabilly Roundup office Friday and Saturday.
Moreover, the Backyard Build-off, sponsored by Black Sea Tattoo and Piercing for 2024, showcases builders who have dedicated a year to create new vehicles from salvaged car parts. These transformations can be viewed on the event’s website, and visitors can vote for their favorites during the event.
Sunday at the Nationals marks a special occasion where 1999 & newer "American Muscle" vehicles are also welcome to join. On-site registration is available on Sunday 7/16 from 7am to 11am, at a fee of $40 ($36 for Syracuse Nationals Members), which includes entry for two adults—remembering that children 12 and under are free. Note that American Muscle vehicles will undergo evaluation before entry and may be declined.
