The first Cannonball Run started in the underground Red Ball Garage in Manhattan, and “Balls to the Wall” refers to the WWII fighter pilot thrusting both throttles forward for maximum velocity. This 27 mile high speed run from Fort Myers to Naples along Interstate 75 has one checkpoint at the 7-Eleven on Bonita Beach Rd at Exit 116. From there it continues to Naples at exit 111. Expect mostly high speed runs and a finish at the most exciting cars and coffee in southwest Florida. The rules are simple: follow closely, obey all traffic laws, use turn signals—and no emergency flashers.
