America’s 250th Birthday Celebration takes place Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Hardinsburg, Indiana. This rain date event from June 27, 2026, offers a full day of community activities starting at noon.
The car, tractor and first responder show begins at noon, with attendees voting for their favorite vehicle. The winner receives a $50 Hardinsburg General Store gift card.
Nerf Wars starts at noon, sponsored by Southern Indiana Nerf Group. Blasters are provided or participants may bring their own. Eye protection is required.
A vendor showcase featuring local businesses, artisans and food trucks runs from noon. The town reinstatement ceremony begins at 3 p.m., with an official ribbon cutting. Special guest Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita will attend.
A fireworks show caps the celebration at dusk.
