The Taste of Portage Market Fair takes place in downtown Portage for a full weekend at Market Square and along Cook and DeWitt Streets. The event features live music, food and drinks, family activities, shopping, vendors, a classic car and truck show, and a half marathon and 5K.
Friday night activities at Market Square include Donny Coyle Music at 4 p.m., The WhiskeyBelles at 6 p.m., and a beer tent and food court from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday activities include a half marathon and 5K at 7 a.m., a walking tour of downtown at 10 a.m., food court and beer tent from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., live music with Wendy Lynn Markus Electric Violin at 9 a.m. and Bree Morgan with the Chillbillies and Dem Horny Funkers at 11 a.m. The car show on Cook Street begins check-in at 8 a.m. for all makes, models and years, with registration required by 11 a.m. A craft show runs at 10 a.m. along DeWitt Street.
Kids’ activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. include balloon sculpting, face painting, inflatable bouncy house, slide, rock-climbing wall and a creation station. A petting zoo operates from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Cook and DeWitt Street. Downtown shops host summer sidewalk sales starting at 11 a.m.
