The City of Marion hosts its annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Free shuttle service runs all evening from the Marion Mall parking lot behind Roses on West Braewick Drive. General event parking is available at the Buck Family Sports Complex off River Road. No handicap parking is available in Matter Park; handicap motorists must park at the mall and take the shuttle for convenient drop-off. Vehicles parked inside Matter Park can only access the park via Quarry Road off State Road 9, with no vehicle access from Matter Park Road at Highland Avenue. Motorcycle parking is located by Shelter 5 on the north side of the park near the bandshell.
