Rail Yards Market hosts Old School Day, a free community classics car show on August 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rail Yards Market in Barelas. Attendees can register classic or lowrider cars and bikes by texting 505-600-1109. The event features a car and bike show with contest categories including Best in Show, Smoothest Paint Job, Oldest Rig, Most Bomb Bike, Best Team Project, Best New School, Freshest Interior, Tricked out Trike, and Truck’n True. Winners receive prize baskets of local goods donated by vendors. Pre-2006 vehicles and vintage style are encouraged. The event includes Old School lowriders and classic cars, music, fashion, fresh food, drinks, and more than 200 farm, food, and art vendors. The market is free for the whole family, 100% local, EBT/SNAP/WIC welcome, ADA accessible, and pets are welcome in cool weather. Free parking is available.
